(Baghdad: Al Furat News) revealed the second deputy speaker of the House of Representatives Bashir Haddad, the extension of the legislative term of the Council for a month.

(Reuters) – The Presidency of the Iraqi Council of Representatives decided on Sunday to lift the parliament session to Tuesday noon.

The House of Representatives decided to postpone the first reading of the draft law for the discharge of land and orchards within the basic design of the city of Baghdad and municipalities.

The House of Representatives also decided to postpone the discussion of the draft law on communications and informatics.

The House of Representatives ended the discussion of the draft law of the Federal Supreme Court, and also decided to postpone the first reading of the draft law of the first amendment to the law of the Royal Court No. (13) for the year 2010 at the request of the representative of the government.

The House of Representatives also ended the first reading of the bill to protect persons from enforced disappearance.

China loosens foreign investment restrictions amid tumbling trade tensions

China’s Planning Commission said on Sunday it had cut the number of sectors subject to foreign investment restrictions as Beijing moved to meet its pledge to open up major industries to investment.

The loosening of restrictions, widely expected, came after the United States and China agreed earlier this week to resume trade talks with US President Donald Trump offering concessions on tariffs and easing restrictions on China’s Huawei.

The National Development and Reform Commission said it had relaxed restrictions on foreign investment in sectors including oil and gas exploration and allowed for greater openness in agriculture, mining and manufacturing.

The Commission posted on its website a new shorter list of industries in which foreign investment is restricted or prohibited.

The Committee reduced the number of sectors or sub-sectors on the negative list to 40 from 48 in the previous list published in June last year. The new list begins on July 30.

UN Security Council members urge Iraq to implement Article 140 of the permanent constitution

The members of the UN Security Council on Saturday urged the federal government to apply Article 140 of the permanent Iraqi constitution.

“The council supports the international team to investigate the crimes committed by a sympathetic organization in Iraq,” members of the council delegation told a news conference in Baghdad today.

Members of the UN Security Council voted to support the Security Council to rebuild the areas freed from the grip of the militant group, as evidenced by grants and loans at the Kuwait conference.
